Gabby visited the Jairus Brewster Children’s Gallery at the Barbados Museum and Historical Society, where she had fun interacting with toys and equipment, which utilise aspects of STEM.
STEM is an acronym for Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics and sometimes, it’s also referred to as STEAM, Science Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths! Creativity in the arts is also important, so that’s why it’s sometimes added in.
Take a virtual tour of the Barbados Museum and Historical Society with Gabby, where we’ll look at the past to see how it has influenced our present and inspires our future. Our tour guide Ms. Elizabeth is very knowledgeable about all the artifacts we’ll see.
Explore Cyber World featuring custom planets with our heroes Bit Bot and Miranda Mongoose as they battle against the tech tyrant Zakk Rat.
Zakk Rat is on a mission to cause havoc in the cyberworld and our heroes are determined to stop him! They utilise skills learned from STEM, reading, and quizzes existing in the Gigabits Kids world.
Gabby attended the Summer Camp, Camp in Motion and learned Robotics from Robotics Instructor Mr. Gregory Grazette.
When we think of esports, most of us jump straight to thinking about the professionals that compete in tournaments for the huge prize pools, but there are actually so many more possible careers in the industry. Thousands of staff members are employed each year to help run various esports organisations and run the big tournaments, so don’t think that you have to be super good at video games to get into the esports industry. There are plenty of roles around, and we’re going to talk about some of the main ones in this segment.
Our Interactive Experiences encompass a range of custom story-driven, educational and engaging content, including virtual reality, games, interactive videos, quizzes, and virtual 360 tours.
We create and intend to launch three primary story-driven interactive experiences every year, which consist of content incorporating virtual reality, games, interactive videos, quizzes, and virtual 360 tours.
Between the primary interactive experience releases, there are also periodic releases of extended videos, interactive tours, special features, and highlights.
Our goal is to provide immersive digital experiences that empower users to familiarize themselves with new technologies through interactive experimentation with each new primary release. This is achieved by developing content with new forms of media that is entertaining, educational, and engaging experiences that reward participants for learning new things.
We plan to extend outreach by developing communities beyond our digital channels. We will accomplish this by visiting schools and meeting face-to-face with students, locating booths at events such as conferences and conventions, and hosting our own radio shows, events and showcases.
Gigabit Kids is a web series that features interactive experiences that aims to engage and teach kids and parents the importance of internet safety and digital literacy. We recognize the critical role the internet plays in our daily lives, especially for children who depend on it for learning and entertainment. However, we also understand that the digital world can be a dangerous place without proper guidance.
Our initiative is designed to address this issue by providing comprehensive education on internet safety. We have created a range of custom multimedia materials that are engaging, informative, and interactive. Our team has carefully curated content that is age-appropriate and covers various topics such as cyberbullying, online privacy, social media usage, phishing scams, and more.
BitBot was created by Miranda Mongoose during an Artificial Intelligence-training summer camp as her final project in the camp’s science competition. Of course Miranda won, and upon returning home, she updated its code using custom AI Conversation Design enhanced with communication skills she learned from observing her psychologist mother interact with her computer engineer dad. This intricate code was the catalyst for BitBot acquiring sentience and once Miranda realised it had consciousness, she knew that they now had a greater purpose. BitBot could be used to help the world! But only if it wanted to… so she asked and BitBot was willing to answer the call. If the world needs a trusted guide to navigate and learn about virtual reality, BitBot is our best hope!
Miranda Mongoose has always been wise beyond her years. Showing a natural talent for technology from young, her parents enrolled this prodigy into courses and camps for every tech activity she was interested in, and she always excelled. Coding computers from the age of two, she balances being a kid at primary school during the day, with fighting cyber-crimes whenever she can. The virtual world is her playground and she uses her sharp, sly skills to educate other kids on how to responsibly use the internet, and how to avoid negative things online. She loves helping the authorities catch cyber-crimals, and has been on a quest to find the biggest villain of them all, Zack Rack. He is a legend in the criminal world and cyber-security’s arch-nemesis, but with Miranda Mongoose on his tail, his days are numbered!
Zakk Rat couldn’t help that he was born a rat and being vermin guaranteed that everyone he encountered treated him badly. After years of mistreatment, being blamed for stealing food and chewing through electrical wires, he decided that since he was unfairly blamed for being bad, he might as well become bad.
Zakk’s parents weren’t just any regular rats. They were engineered in a lab and tested on daily during Artificial Intelligence enhancement experiments. The cyber-scientists had no use for Zakk and discarded him in the alleyway behind the lab where he rummaged through garbage cans for scraps, and slept in an old CPU for shelter.
Through a hole in the wall, he regularly entered the lab where his parents were held captive, and often tried to help them escape by chewing through various wires connected to the cages they were trapped in.
One day he bit the wrong wire which zapped him with an intense electrical charge and activated his latent, super – genius intellect, giving him the ability to hack any computer, while also simultaneously ending his parent’s existence.
From that moment, Zakk Rat made an oath to wreak havoc using technology, and terrorise others just like the cyber-scientists had terrorised him and his parents.
